MCA kicks off 2009 with three new members

 The Management
Consultancies
Association (MCA) has
started 2009 positively
with three new members
joining in January.
Compass Management
Consulting, Digital
Public and SFL all met
the stringent entry
criteria to join the
management consulting
trade body. MCA members
represent around 70% of
the UK consulting
sector, and work with 90
of the FTSE100 and all
government departments.

   MCA membership has
become synonymous with
quality and
professionalism in
consulting. All members
must adhere to the MCA
Code of Practice that
provides the consultancy
buyer with reassurance
that MCA firms maintain

 the highest standards.
The MCA also offers a
wide range of activities
and member services, and
provides a platform for
government and industry
stakeholders and the
media to engage in
debate with consultants
about wider issues
facing the UK economy.

   Alan Leaman, chief
executive, MCA, said:
“We are delighted to
welcome Compass, Digital
Public and SFL to the
membership. These three
firms further
demonstrate the breadth
of knowledge and
expertise the management
consulting industry
provides both the public
and private sectors.

   "We are anticipating
continued increases in
our membership in 2009

 in 2002, Digital Public
has swiftly grown to 60
consultants. As its
name suggests, Digital
Public provides
management consultancy
exclusively to public
sector clients,
concentrating on
supporting central
government departments
and executive agencies
to make use of digital
channels to more
effectively engage
citizens, stakeholders
or workforces.

   SFL is an
organisation development
consultancy specialising
in people. Its unique
Leadership Message™
programme enables
organisations to change
quickly whilst building
a robust and authentic
leadership capability
aligned to the vision

 and values created
through the process. SFL
services are augmented
with a range of software
tools, not least of
which is the Change
Readiness Assessment
which enables
organisations to make
intelligent decisions on
where to focus change
effort. Working with
CEOs and main board
directors, SFL is active
in retail, banking,
emergency services, the
NHS, social housing and
local government. As
this niche consultancy
develops its business,
it is adding new sectors
to its portfolio.

   MCA membership
requires consulting
firms to meet stringent
entry criteria and be
subject to audit.

 as buyers of management
consulting services are
increasingly recognising
MCA firms as maintaining
the highest standards in
the industry.”

   Compass Management
Consulting was founded
in 1980 and remains an
independently run
management consulting
firm. Compass identifies
and delivers significant
improvements in the
business and IT
operations of large
