| | Specialist management consultancy, Baringa Partners LLP, is celebrating the second anniversary of the launch of its financial services consultancy practice. Despite turbulent macroeconomic conditions, the firm has rapidly built up a stable of prominent clients, with eight top-tier names including Barclays, AXA, Lloyds, UBS and RBS. Baringa’s financial services practice headcount has also grown strongly, soaring from just two at the launch to more than 30 at the present time.
Adrian Bettridge, managing partner of the financial services practice at Baringa Partners said: “These difficult times are leading clients to sharpen their focus on the value delivered by their external consultants. Clients come to us and stay with us because we offer unbeatable value in terms of quality, expertise and measurable results. We differentiate ourselves through the depth of our banking experience, the expertise in our consulting team and our

Baringa Partners is working on several large-scale business-critical transformation projects for leading institutions, including post-merger integration and Basel II implementation for the Lloyds Banking Group. Other key projects have included a major payments infrastructure renewal programme, a credit risk renewal programme and in-depth work on front office operating models. As demonstrated in delivering these projects the firm has extensive experience in leading intensive, strategic change programmes, but has also remained nimble enough to tackle smaller, high-value advisory projects.

Mohamed Mansour, managing partner, said: “The launch of our financial services practice coincided with the start of one of the world’s worst economic crises. Its ongoing success is not only a testament to the leadership team and our focus on creating trusted partnerships with our clients, but also to the skill, experience and dedication of our consultants. We are committed to fostering a positive and empowering working culture, and strive to create an environment that attracts knowledgeable people with specialist consultancy skills who know their sectors inside out through years of personal experience.”
Looking forward, risk management is set to remain top of Baringa’s agenda as the financial industry continues to feel the effects of the economic crisis. The firm is also planning to make some strategic senior hires to support its move into the Insurance sector.
