Moorhouse named as APM Finalist for second year running

management specialist
Moorhouse Consulting has
been named as a finalist
in two important
categories at this
year’s Association of
Project Management’s
(APM) Project Management
Awards.
  
   Moorhouse’s Seb Hills
was short-listed for
Young Project Manager of
the Year while the
business was nominated
for Project Management
Company of the Year.
  
   Hills, 29, was
nominated for his
exceptional work at the
 
 Nuclear Decommissioning
Authority, and the team
cited its contribution
to major client
programmes at Transport
for London and the NHS
in a submission for
Project Management
Company of the Year.
  
   Managing director Dom
Moorhouse said he was
delighted that his
team’s hard work and
achievements had been
commended by the
industry’s leading body.

recently awarded the
London Excellence Award
2008 for ‘Best

was also named as a
finalist in the
categories of ‘Project
 
 Management Company of
the Year’ and ‘Young
Project Manager of the
Year’ at the Association
of Project Management
Awards 2007, and as
Joint Winner of the
Institute of Business
Consulting’s Award for
‘The most active
practice in the field of
professional standards’.

 Top-Consultant.com was
delighted to once again
sponsor the annual Young
MCA Charity Challenge
which was held on 2
October 2008 at the
Cumberland Hotel in
London.
  
   This Young MCA event
is organised to raise
money for the MCA’s
chosen charity, the
Depaul Trust, a charity
working with young,
 
 homeless and vulnerable
people across the UK,
and to encourage
friendly competition
between members and
allow new consultants to
network with their peers
in an informal setting.
  
   This year’s “Pit Stop
Challenge” tested the
consulting skills of the
participating
eight-strong teams to
the limit. Amidst a
 
  
   
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 third place. But the
competition was
secondary to the
fund-raising and all
were delighted to
contribute to the £1,500
grand total the Young
MCA raised from the
event.
  
   The Young MCA,
launched in 2005, is an
industry-wide group for
those at the beginning
of their careers in
 
 consultancy who would
like to enhance their
networking and business
development skills. The
Young MCA steering group
holds a number of
informal
business-related events
throughout the year to
allow its members to
meet up and network.
These include social
gatherings and seminars.
