Infosys expands European near-shore capability
 
 Infosys Technologies is
doubling its facility in
Brno in the Czech
Republic, with a new
350-seat facility. The
centre will open in
January 2007 and will
 
  
   
 
 
 
 increase its capacity
for IT services to its
European customers.
   The expansion of
Infosys’ near-shore
operations in the Czech
Republic, the opening of
 
 the second onshore
development centre in
the UK at Swindon, the
existing onshore
development centre in
Germany, and the
near-shore operations in
 
 Mauritius reflect the
increasing adoption of
outsourcing by European
companies, the company

 Accenture has announced
a number of appointments
to its executive
leadership team,
effective from the
beginning of September,
including new group
chief executives for its
business consulting and
outsourcing growth
 
 platforms and four of
its five operating
groups.
   Chief executive
William Green has
assumed the additional
post of chairman,
succeeding Joe Forehand,
who retired at the end
of August. Green, 53,
 
 succeeded Forehand as
CEO on 1 September 2004,
and has been a member of
the Accenture board
since June 2001.
   Kevin M Campbell has
been appointed group
chief
executive–outsourcing.
Mark Foster, 46, is now
 
 group chief
executive–business
consulting & integrated
markets.
   David Thomlinson, who
was previously group
chief executive of the
resources operating
group, replaces Lis
Astall as managing
 
 director of Accenture’s
United Kingdom and
Ireland business. The
company didn’t announce
a new role for Astall
but media reports
suggest she is to remain
with the company.
  
 
 
Big guns join European Advisory Board of Proudfoot Consulting
 
 Five prominent senior
executives with
experience from some of
Europe’s largest
corporations have joined
the European Advisory
Board of operational
effectiveness
consultancy Proudfoot
 
 Consulting, part of
Management Consulting
Group Plc (MCG).
   They are: Bernard
Attali, former chairman
and CEO of Air France;
Frank Mueller, vice
chairman of Citigroup
Global Markets in
 
 Germany; Sir Bryan
Nicholson, formerly
chairman of the
Financial Reporting
Council and director
general of the CBI;
Peter Ellwood, ex-CEO of
Barclaycard, former
Lloyds TSB group CEO and
 
 current chairman of ICI;
and Charles Berry,
former chairman of
Scottish Power and Thus
Group plc.
   Kevin Parry, chairman
of Proudfoot Consulting
and CEO of parent MCG,
said the appointments
 
 will strengthen the
firm’s strategic insight
and provide high level
guidance as part of
MCG’s European growth

Deloitte UK adds another high profile adviser
 
 Dame Sue Street,
permanent secretary at
the Department of
Culture, Media and
Sport, will join
Deloitte’s public sector
practice in January 2007
following her retirement
from the civil service
in September 2006.

 and was appointed a
permanent secretary in
2001. In addition, she
spent three years as a
management consultant in
private practice in the
mid-1990s.
   Her role at Deloitte
will include advising on
the Government’s public
sector reform agenda,
 
 bringing expertise,
insights and value to
our clients in the
public and private
sectors. Dame Sue will
work closely with head
of government and public
sector for Deloitte,
Mike Turley, and with
Heather Hancock who runs
the firm’s public policy
 
 business. Her focus will
be on strategic support
to Deloitte’s public
sector leadership, and
in an advisory role with
clients.

several major Government
departments during her
