CSC renews $1.9bn IT services contract with BAE systems for the third time
 
  
   
 
 
 
 
 transatlantic defence
and aerospace company.
The five-year contract
is valued at
approximately $1.9bn.
   CSC's relationship
with BAE Systems began
in April 1994 when the
companies signed a
10-year, $1.5bn IT
outsourcing contract in
the UK, which was then
 
 one of the largest
commercial IT
outsourcing contracts
ever awarded to a single
supplier in Europe.
   Under the new
agreement, CSC will
continue to manage a
full range of IT
operations for a number
of BAE Systems
businesses, from
 
 mainframe and midrange
computers, servers and
desktops, to local and
wide area networking,
Internet services, help
desk, applications
development and support,
and procurement
services.
   The companies’
relationship has
expanded to support
 
 multiple mergers and
acquisitions in both the
UK and the US. Through
the existing agreement,
CSC provides IT services
in support of 13 BAE
Systems businesses and
joint ventures operating
in more than 117
locations in the UK and

   Krumwiede brings more
than 13 years of
experience in staffing,

Aon Consulting. He joins
the firm from
Workstream, where he was
vice president and
central region sales
manager.
   In his new role,
Krumwiede will be
responsible for leading
 
 employment and
recruitment process
outsourcing sales and
business development in
the United States.

objectives.
   Goldfarb has 20 years
 
 of experience in tying
management and
technology together. He
most recently held the
title of executive vice
president and CIO of PRG
Schultz International,
where he was responsible
for directing the firm's
worldwide information
technology team, and
overseeing the company's
capital technology
 
 investments, strategy,
and services. Prior to
that, Goldfarb served as
CIO of Global Knowledge,
where he provided
leadership for the
company's worldwide
technology group. He has
also served as vice
president, CIO/CTO for
Macmillan USA and CIO
for Elder Beerman Stores
Corporation.
 
    Goldfarb is a
recognised leader in the
discipline of applying
IT to business needs. He
has co-authored and
published several books
and numerous articles in
the field. He was
recognised by
ComputerWorld magazine
as one of the business
world's "Premier 100 IT
Leaders".
