eg Solutions CEO gains recognition for contribution to business

 Elizabeth Gooch, CEO of
AIM listed software
company, eg Solutions,
was among those invited
to a recent reception at
Buckingham Palace for
women who have made a
significant contribution
to business. The
reception was hosted by
the Queen.
   Gooch is one of only
25 women listed in this

 year’s Management
Today
Top 100
Entrepreneurs. This
figure is 25% higher
than when the list was
first compiled three
years ago, reflecting
the fact that more women
than ever are now
successfully running
their own businesses.
   Gooch, who is the
seventh ranked woman on

 the list, feels that,
far from being a
disadvantage, being
female in today’s
financial services
industry has proven
extremely beneficial.
   She said: “My
approach has stood me in
good stead because I am
still one of the very
few women at this level
of the financial

 services industry.
That’s not really
changed at all over the
last 18 years in the
City, so I’m quite a
novelty in many respects
and I use that to my
advantage as best I
can.”
   Other guests at the
event included Sharon
Osbourne, Cath Kidson,
Jane Churchill (of Jane

 Churchill Interiors),
Sarah Doukas (of Storm
Model Management), Ella
Heeks (of Abel and Cole,
the organic home
delivery service) and
Rosie Cambell-Preston
(Of Inverawe
Smokehouses).
