Two awards for Hay Group
Global management consultancy Hay Group picked up the Human Resources Award for developing a revenue-enhancing talent management strategy for BAE Systems, in addition to the Change Management in the Public Sector Award for helping Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to turn around its leadership and culture.
Hay Group UK MD Lesley Wilkin commented: “It is a very proud achievement to have won two of the consultancy industry’s top awards, and a fitting reflection of the excellent, high-profile work of Hay Group consultants.”
Robust talent management
BAE Systems traditionally works on complex long-term contracts with long-term planning cycles, so a structured and cutting edge talent management process was essential.

Sherief Hammady, a Hay Group associate director who led the work, commented: “BAE Systems now has a clear understanding of which leaders it will need to deliver business performance in the future, and a structured talent management process for identifying and developing these people in time. I am delighted that the hard work of our team has been recognised in this award.”
Leadership turnaround

“I am exceptionally proud of our team’s work on this project, as well as the rightful recognition this award brings for the success of the efforts made by the leaders and staff of the hospital itself.”

Hay Group proposed a measurable leadership development programme integrated with organisational development plans, to clarify issues and priorities, engage leaders with the strategy and change their behaviour.
By emphasising leadership impact over managerial skills, and team over individual performance, the programme helped transform the hospital’s culture, right down to ward level.
