Management consultants prepare to job hunt at Virtual Careers Fair

 Consulting recruiters
from 37 organisations
will be eagerly waiting
to meet candidates
attending
Top-Consultant.com’s
first virtual careers
fair on 20 June. With a
fascinating range of
niche strategy firms,
global consulting brands
and IT/ technology
specialists due to
exhibit, the fair
attracted several
hundred candidate
registrations from
experienced consultants
within 48 hours of its
announcement.
   Top-Consultant

 director Tony Restell
puts this success down
to a mixture of
curiosity about the
innovative technology
platform and a desire to
discuss career options
with consulting
recruiters more
discreetly than is
possible when attending
a regular jobs fair.
   “A major factor in
the decision to launch a
series of virtual
careers fairs was the
desire to make it easier
for consultants to
attend our fairs.
Logging into a virtual
fair for an hour is much

 less intrusive than
having to take a day off
to attend an event in
person. Going virtual
also addresses one of
the biggest concerns
that candidates have
about attending a
physical fair – that
they’ll be spotted at
the fair by their
current employer.”
   Consultants
considering their career
options have a few days
left to register for a
place at the virtual
fair and full details of
who is eligible to
attend and how to
register can be found on

 the
virtual fairs listing.
Following the interest
in this first event, the
decision has already
been made to run a
second virtual fair in
late November.

exhibitors at this first
event comprises:

Sharpen your skills at 'summer training camp'

 Management consultants
from all walks of life
are being invited to
expand their horizons
and learn fresh skills
at a new 'summer
training camp' run by
consultancy training
experts Elevation
Learning.
   The two-day 'summer
school' will take place
at Latimer Place in

 leafy Buckinghamshire,
and will feature an
eclectic mix of experts,
gurus and motivators,
who will share the
latest techniques around
how to engage your
clients, grow sales and
profits, and become the
consummate professional
consultant.
   The event is the
brainchild of Calvert

 Markham, well-known
author on the art of
management consultancy
and managing director of
Elevation Learning.
   Markham says:
"Consultants are a
talented and maverick
bunch, who tend to
respond well to a
creative approach to
training rather than
formal 'classroom'

 style, and our event
reflects that with tai
chi, qi gong and
opportunities to network
and recharge built into
the two days.
   "Delegates then
create their own
tailored agenda to suit
their individual needs,
by selecting subjects
from three streams –
Growing Sales,

 Consulting Skills
Refresh and Consulting
Labs. I guarantee they
will take away a range
of innovative tools and
techniques that they
will be able to apply to
tricky client situations
straight away."
