Detica sees tenth consecutive year of growth

 Detica announced rising
full-year revenues
following a "very strong
performance" from its
core UK business.
   Turnover jumped 33
percent to £71m in the
year ended 31 March.
Profit before tax and
goodwill was up 2
percent to £9.4m, while
profits leapt 29 percent
to £12.5m on a like for
like basis and excluding
investment in
StreamShield and US
start-up costs.
   Organic like-for-like

 profit before tax and
their revenues have
grown on average by 28
percent in each of the
last five financial
years.
   Turnover from
government sources came
in 39 percent higher at
£46m, while commercial
business accounted for
£25m of sales, up 23
percent on 2004.
   The company said its
government markets are
likely to remain
attractive for the
foreseeable future due

 to the continuing focus
on public service
investment, combined
with robust national
security and border
control.
   Particularly
encouraging is the
growth in the commercial
sector. Revenues here
actually fell on an
organic basis, however,
headline growth was 23
percent, despite a
contraction in work with
Centrica and the winding
up of some vertical
interests acquired

 through Rubus. Detica's
two main focus areas
outside government -
telecoms (which grew 25
percent to £7.6m) and
financial services (74
percent to £10.3m) -
both put in a strong
performance.
   Chief executive Tom
Black said, "The outlook
for the business is
positive and we remain
confident in our ability
to perform well once
again in the coming
year."

 revenue growth reached
30 percent compared to
25 percent organic
growth last year.
Operating margins in the
"core" remained high,
with just a slight fall
from 17.3 percent to
16.7 percent.
   This has been
Detica's tenth
consecutive year of
growth in turnover and

LogicaCMG says first quarter orders are up by 37%

 In its most recent
trading update LogicaCMG
said it expects
performance for the year
to show a significant
improvement over 2004,
in part due to strong
first quarter bookings.
   The company said
order bookings in the
first quarter were "very
strong", up 37 percent
over last year, and that
it is currently in
negotiation for several
large contracts.
   The improved
performance will be
weighted to the second
half when the benefits

 businesses performing
well. The company
reported revenues of
£1.66bn and pre-tax
profit of £42.2m for
2004.
   The company said it
continues to make
progress in improving
the operating
performance in Germany
and, while that market
remains difficult,
expects a significant
improvement compared to
2004 as the year
progresses.
   The French business
is performing in line
with the second half of

 last year as progress in
its restructuring
continues.
   LogicaCMG again
emphasised that the
introduction of
International Financial
Reporting Standards
(IFRS) has no impact on
the underlying
economics, cash flows or
risk profile of its
business.
   It said its 2004
operating profit from
continuing operations
was 98.2 million pounds
under the new IFRS
accounting standard,
versus 111.3 million

 under UK GAAP accounting
standards.
   This is broadly in
line with previous
comments on IFRS,
principally at the time
of the group's
preliminary results for
2004 released on March
2.
   LogicaCMG's first
financial results under
IFRS will be the 2005
interims which are due
to be announced on
August 31, 2005.

 of restructuring in
France and Germany
should deliver improved
performance and the
contracts won in the
first quarter and with
Energias de Portugal
come fully on stream.
   LogicaCMG expects
organic revenue growth
to be in the range of
4-5 percent for the year
as a whole, with the UK
and Netherlands

Atos' Q1 results confirm improvement in market conditions

 Atos Origin said
revenues reached
€1.356bn in the first
quarter, up from the
€1.3bn reported for the
same period last year,
representing
like-for-like growth of
9.1% that includes the
impact from the adoption
of IFRS accounting
standards.
   'This is the third
quarter-on-quarter
increase, confirming a
general improvement in
market conditions,' the
company said.
   For the quarter ended

 the company said.
   On a regional basis,
revenues in France were
1.8% higher than last
year, benefiting from a
strong performance in
Consulting and Systems
Integration,
particularly from the
new contract with
Renault.
   Elsewhere, good
organic revenue growth
was achieved in both The
Netherlands (+4.4%) and
in the United Kingdom
(+7.7%), where Atos
picked up additional
work, especially in the

 Public Sector.
   Revenues in
Germany-Central Europe
recorded a 92% organic
growth, mainly due to
the KarstadtQuelle
contract. However,
analysts question the
accounting of the
contract as organic
growth and maintain that
it's hard to see
underlying growth from
Germany.
   In the rest of EMEA
growth in Italy and
Spain was encouraging,
but in the Middle East
revenues are still

 affected by political
instability in the
region.
   After disposing of
more than 50% of the
business in the Americas
in mid-2004, Atos said
the remaining activity
is now healthy and
growing once again and
recorded a year-on-year
organic increase of 13%
in the first quarter.
   The Asia-Pacific
region recorded organic
growth of 15.1% for the
quarter.

 March 31, 2005 the three
main service lines each
recorded strong organic
growth. In Consulting,
where revenues reached
€106m, there was a 10.3%
organic increase,
year-on-year. The
confirmation of growth
in consulting demand is
an additional indicator
of the market recovery,
