Atos Origin sells Nordic operations to WM-data

 In what analysts are
calling a "wise
decision", Atos Origin
said it has reached an
agreement to sell its
Swedish and Norwegian
operations to WM-data
for 145 million euro in
cash.

    The deal represents a
significant further step
toward Atos' stated
intention to dispose of
businesses with annual
revenues of up to 500
million euro. In 2004,
the company disposed of
businesses with annual

 revenues of just over
200 million euro. It
expects the remainder of
its disposal program to
be completed in 2005.
   As part of the deal
the companies will form
a strategic partnership
to provide extended

 support for each other's
clients in their
respective geographic
domains.
   Commenting on the
announcement, analysts
at Ovum said the
agreement will
strengthen WM-data and

 the strategic
partnership between the
companies could
eventually help Atos to
grow.
