Capgemini trainee consultants add value to local community

 provides a safe and
secure place for young
people to go and
promotes inclusion by
enabling disabled and
non-disabled children
and young people up to
the age of 25 and their
families to learn and
play together.
Capgemini's trainee
consultants help to
raise money for the
charity, but more
importantly they are
able to offer
client-side management
consulting expertise to
help the charity run
itself more effectively.
   In particular,
Capgemini's consultants
are working with The
Limes to create a new
marketing strategy which
will help achieve its
vision of a sustainable,

 inclusive place for
children and young
people to play, learn
and grow. The Limes has
never received this kind
of support before, so
the work the CDC is
carrying out has been of
tremendous value so far.
   National charity
businessdynamics is also
benefiting from the help
of Capgemini's trainee
consultants.
businessdynamics aims to
bring business to life
for young people of
14-19 years old and to
help improve their
skills in preparation
for the world of work.
Capgemini's consultants
have been working with
students to introduce
them to teamworking in a
business environment and
helping them to

 understanding what
characterises a good
team.
   New Capgemini joiner
Joan Dunn explains:
"Working with students
who have no experience
of business life and
encouraging them to
think in new ways as
part of a team has been
an invaluable
experience. It's
something I can bring to
clients to help them to
think differently."
   Keith Logan, CDC
community leader, adds:
"Capgemini is aware of
its corporate social
responsibility and is
exposing its consulting
workforce to charitable
work right from the
start. The trainee
programme for
consultants at Capgemini

 has included community
work as part of its
curriculum since 2004.
The feedback we have
received internally and
externally is very
positive. The impact of
the trainee programme at
Capgemini on future
consultants and other
people make it one of
the most rewarding
experiences."
   Jonathan Stephens, a
trainee consultant at
Capgemini, concludes:
"Working with charities
at Capgemini has been a
fantastic experience and
I'm glad that it's part
of the training
programme for
consultants."

 Young trainee
consultants at Capgemini
are helping charities as
part of their on-the-job
training, not only to
learn about consulting
for different types of
organisations but also
to support the local
community.
   One such charity
supported by Capgemini's
trainees - known as
Capgemini's Consultant
Development Community
(CDC) - is The Limes
Community and Children's
Centre in Walthamstow in
east London. The Limes
