| KPMG hits £1m milestone for Help the Hospices |

| | KPMG has hit its £1m fundraising target for its staff charity, Help the Hospices, the hospice movement's national charity. It has taken just 22 months to reach this landmark, with numerous innovative activities taking place across the firm's 22 UK offices to raise money for Help the Hospices.

| | 250 of its people have been volunteering their time to Help the Hospices and local hospices; from hands on activities including gardening and painting to longer term pieces of pro bono work, and new initiatives such as its 'green audit' programme specifically designed to address energy use in each hospice and to find ways to help reduce the hospices' carbon footprint and reduce their energy consumption. | |

| | To date, across 28 hospice audits, annual energy savings of a projected £100,000 and 500 tonnes of carbon have been identified.
Over the last year, many KPMG employees have donated a slice of their hard-earned cash to the cause and held a variety of fundraising events across the country to raise money for hospice care.

At the beginning of the year KPMG announced an innovative agreement with American Express under which a proportion of the value of every business transaction on the corporate American Express card will go to Help the Hospices.
