Capgemini gives upbeat 2005 outlook
 
 Capgemini posted wider
losses in the second
half of 2004 on
exceptional tax and
other charges but its
upbeat outlook for 2005
sent its shares up 6.4
per cent to $36.65
following the

Renault outsources IT operations for £587 million
 
 French auto maker
Renault has outsourced
the bulk of its IT
operations to Atos
Origin, Computer
Sciences Corporation and
Hewlett-Packard in
five-year contracts
worth £587 million ($789
million).
   Atos Origin's
contract, worth £300
million ($404 million)

 related to auto design,
manufacturing, sales,
marketing, and support.
Renault said the
contract is a strategic
component of its growth
and globalisation
strategies. Atos Origin
said it would service
the contract from
resources based mainly
in service centres in
France, Spain, Brazil
and India.
 
    Under the terms of
the £175 million ($236
million) agreement, CSC
will provide
infrastructure
management services,
including network,
midrange and mainframe
support to Renault sites
in France and Spain. CSC
is confident the deal
will help it grow in the
French outsourcing
market.
 
    HP will manage
Renault's global desktop
systems including all
PCs, workstations, local
and network printers,
video conferencing and
other equipment. The
deal, which will support
all 87,000 of Renault's
users in 26 countries,
is valued at £112
million ($150 million).
